mojo-ouyaThe good people over at Mad Catz has announced earlier this morning that they will be slashing the price of the M.O.J.O. game console by $50, which means it will now retail for $200 a pop, not to mention this particular console will be able to support OUYA software in the months ahead. Having said that, Mad Catz would end up as the first partner to sign onto the new OUYA Everywhere platform, which would deliver a game store, user interface, and additional features of OUYA’s very own video game console, albeit onto third-party devices.

Here is a little bit of backstory on the OUYA platform – it would enable users to enjoy Android games on a TV as they control all the on-screen action via a wireless game controller. Majority of games on the Android platform happen to be designed for smartphones and tablets, where all titles that are available from the OUYA Store have been specially optimized for gaming on the big screen, as well as non-touchscreen devices.

The OUYA platform will hopefully be able to help reduce barriers for game developers who want to churn out big screen experiences, but do not have the budget to do so. After all, developing an Android game compared to a PS4 or Xbox One title is a whole lot more affordable, and OUYA store might be the ideal place to churn out those potential sleeper hits.
