q30leakBack in 2013, it was rumored that BlackBerry had more phones up their sleeves, with one of them being the BlackBerry Q30. Then there were reports that BlackBerry’s planned phones were cancelled, and at MWC 2014, we were treated to both the BlackBerry Z3, a full touchscreen smartphone destined for Indonesia, and the BlackBerry Q20, a phone designed for old school BlackBerry users in mind.

In any case according to a recent post by CrackBerry, it seems that they have received an email containing the image above. It is unclear what the image above is for, but apparently the email suggested that it was an image of the rumored BlackBerry Q30. However CrackBerry suggests that it might be more of a concept rather than an actual leak, so we suggest you not get your hopes up just yet.

Interestingly enough it seems that the BlackBerry Q30 has some design elements in it that look as though it might make its way onto the BlackBerry Q20. When the Q20 was announced, it was revealed that BlackBerry would be going old school by introducing a trackpad and the tool belt of buttons that are akin to that of older BlackBerry 7 handsets like the Bold 9900.

Assuming the image above is that of the Q30, it looks like BlackBerry had been planning such a device all along, although we’re not sure why they would cancel it in favor of the Q20. However if this is only a concept image, we guess BlackBerry fans can imagine what the Q20 might look like.

While the handset has been announced, BlackBerry has yet to reveal the design of the handset or its hardware specifications. However Prem Watsa, the CEO of Fairfax (the company that injected BlackBerry with a bunch of cash) recently stated that he planned on convincing BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, to reveal the handset and possibly even give some away.
