After Facebook, Twitter is the most widely used social network. Hundreds of millions of users around the world use the microblogging network to share 140 character tweets. It has established itself as an important source of news too, so its purpose goes far beyond simply chatting with your friends. Twitter users have been left stranded as the service has gone out for “most users,” the microblogging service has revealed on its official status blog.

Twitter says that most of its users are experiencing issues while accessing Twitter. The problem isn’t limited to Twitter on the web, in fact it extends to its official mobile apps as well as some clients as well. The company says that its looking into it, but it appears that some users are still able to gain access intermittently.

Twitter mentions on the blog that it experienced “unexpected complications” during a planned deploy in one of its core services. This resulted in the service being down for most of its users. To get it back up and running once again, they have identified the issue and have rolled back the change. Controlled recovery has begun so it shouldn’t take a lot of time before Twitter is available once again to all users. Twitter has apologized for the inconvenience caused.
