panzerhundWhen you come across a particular item like the $100 Wolfenstein: The New Order Panzerhund Edition, I am quite sure that with our experience in the past, we would have more or less figured out that this would be a special edition of the game. Well, sad to say, despite forking out that kind of good money, Wolfenstein: The New Order Panzerhund Edition would not be accompanied by a copy of the game. Really. What would you get having parted with a Benjamin then?

For starters, the Panzerhund Edition will feature an 8-inch Panzerhund statue and a slew of other physical collectibles, not to mention there will also be an exclusive Steelbook case so that it can keep a copy of the game. Yes sir, to keep a copy of the game, meaning the game itself is missing from this particular purchase.

Of course, there is a disclaimer that specifically mentions, “This collector’s edition does not include a copy of the game. Keep your pre-order at your favourite retailer and we’ll send you these goodies separately—this way we can ship these boxes worldwide and you’re not stuck waiting for your game to come along with an oversized, expensively shipped box.”

Hence, Wolfenstein: The New Order Panzerhund Edition is not a game, but rather, classified as “memorabilia”, with a limited run of 5,000 units. [Press Release]
