apple_logo2We have heard the rumors about how Apple plans on launching two iPhones this year. One of them is allegedly a 4.7-inch iPhone and the other could be a 5.5-inch iPhone. However according to a recent report from Reuters, it seems that new information has suggested that Apple could only be launching one iPhone, the 4.7-inch model.

Apparently this is due to issues with the 5.5-inch model where there are difficulties with the in-cell production technology. It is expected that the 5.5-inch model could instead be delayed several months and launched after the 4.7-inch model which is expected to take place this fall.

Reuters’ source claims that Japan Display, Sharp, and LG Display have all been tapped as suppliers of the screens. It was only recently that Japan Display unveiled a 5.5-inch QHD display panel which some have speculated could make it into the next-gen iPhone. Apple has typically released only one iPhone a year save for last year where they unveiled the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c.

While it would not be a stretch of the imagination to think that two iPhones could be launched this year, launching them several months apart could potentially anger customers who might have bought the 4.7-inch model because they didn’t know if a 5.5-inch model would be released. In any case do take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Is a dual iPhone launch possible?
