adduplex_tablets_may2014There are plenty of Windows-based tablets in the market at the moment, which is unsurprising given that we’ve come across our fair share of product launches and announcements, but interestingly enough it seems that despite the variety of devices available in the market at the moment, Microsoft has appeared to be the top manufacturer of Windows 8 and Windows RT devices.

This is according to the latest numbers from AdDuplex based on integration in over 800 apps from the Windows Store. According to their findings, which you can see in the pie chart above, it shows that the Microsoft Surface RT tablet is dominating other manufacturers at 14.5%. This is actually pretty interesting because the Surface-series of tablets by Microsoft was actually reported as doing quite badly.

However if the chart shows that the Surface RT tablet is dominating, we guess it could mean that it looks other other Windows-based brands aren’t doing that well either, and might actually be doing worse than Microsoft’s Surface tablets. That being said, the next most popular tablet is the Microsoft Surface 2, another ARM-based tablet, followed by ASUS, and HP, and so on.

In any case Microsoft will be making a Surface-related announcement tomorrow where presumably the Surface mini will be announced, alongside an Intel-based Surface tablet as well, so do check back with us then for the details.
