nexus-7-2-review--017The Nexus tablet lineup currently consists of a 7-inch tablet and a 10.1-inch tablet. However it seems that Google could be looking to fill in the blanks with an 8-inch tablet, or at least that’s what the rumors are saying when they are talking about a Nexus 8. It used to be unclear if such a device was truly in the works, but thanks to a sighting on Indian import website, Zauba, we have more evidence that such a tablet really does exist.

According to the listing on Zauba, it references a device that arrived from the US which has been named “Nexus 8”, although the product description does mention that the device is a prototype tablet. Interestingly enough, there is another entry which mentions the Nexus 8 prototype again, except that this time the description reads that the tablet is similar to the Nexus 7.

We’re not sure if they’re talking about hardware specs or design, but chances are Google could be looking to keep a similar-ish design to their Nexus tablet lineup, as opposed to something wildly different. Unless of course they are planning on announcing new Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets with new designs later this year.

The specs of the Nexus 8 are just rumors for now, but it is said that the device could be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset and come with a display resolution of 2560×1600. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we can look forward to an announcement in the future, or at least more evidence of the tablet’s existence.
