vaio-flip-recallHeads up! If you happen to own the Sony Vaio Flip 11A, then you might want to take note that this particular notebook has been issued with a recall statement, where those who are affected are required to contact Sony for assessment; consequent repair or refund – as soon as possible, of course. Apparently, the recall surrounding the Sony Vaio Flip 11A notebooks is pretty serious, since a small number of malfunctions could very well turn it into a potential fire or burn hazard.

Basically, anyone using the Sony Vaio Flip 11A with the model number SVF11N13CXS will need to take immediate action to avoid any potentially untoward incidents. This particular device was sold over at US retailers as well as online in 2014, with the timeline given to stand somewhere between February and April. Apart from that, the Sony Vaio Flip 11A happens to be one of Sony’s final Vaio machines, where it has since been discontinued when Sony offloaded their computer division to Japan Industrial Partners.

In the recall notice, it mentioned that “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled personal computers, shut it down and unplug it; and contact Sony for instructions on how to arrange for an inspection free of charge to the consumer and a free repair or full refund of the computer’s purchase price.”
