huawei-teaser

The IFA 2014 conference takes place next month. Countless new products are going to be announced at the event, including new flagships from Samsung and Sony. Over the past couple of months we have heard rumors of a new Huawei flagship in the pipeline. The company has already sent out invites for its IFA event and now it has also released a teaser for the upcoming smartphone.

Huawei hasn’t revealed exactly what this smartphone will be called. Previous brandings include Ascend and Ascend Mate, but since it has hinted at the number 7, presumably the device may be called the Ascend D7 or Ascend Mate 7.

Previous rumors have already hinted that Huawei’s new flagship will feature a fingerprint sensor and the teaser certainly hints about this possibility. For this particular smartphone Huawei is expected to use its own Kirin 920 chipset which is believed to be an octacore setup with an as yet unknown amount of RAM. Huawei’s Kirin chipset features four Cortex-A15 cores and four Cortex-A7 cores in a big.LITTLE configuration.

The teaser also hints at the possibility of Cate.6 LTE which would enable theoretical download speeds of up to 300Mbps on the smartphone. All of this makes it out to be an Android powerhouse which we’ll get to see on September 4th.
