bungie-destiny

September 9th is a big day not just for iPhone fans but for gamers who have been waiting for Bungie’s new title to drop ever since it was first introduced. Destiny is finally going to be released tomorrow. Those who have ordered a physical copy will start receiving shipments and those who pre-ordered the game online will be able to download it and get to the business to playing. But before anyone can do that there’s something to keep in mind, the Destiny Day One Patch has been released by Bungie.

It doesn’t matter if you have gone with the physical copy of the game or have already downloaded it from the PlayStation store, its possible to preload the title on Sony’s console. The Day One Patch has to be installed before the game can be played.

Bungie hasn’t revealed the changelog of this update so its not clear right now exactly what has been changed or improved, what we do know is that it bumps up Destiny to version 1.02. It has become a norm now for game updates to be pushed out over the air so expect more of these in the future, however the problem with the Day One update is that you need to have it installed before you can get down to playing the game.

On the PlayStation 4 the Destiny Day One Patch weighs in at 296MB. Those who have already gone through with the pre-load can fire up their console right now and install this patch so that everything is in shape when Destiny is finally unlocked for everyone tomorrow.
