here-bahnNokia has just introduced an update to their HERE Maps which will include a slew of train and transit information from Deutsche Bahn. Deutsche Bahn happens to be the German rail company, just like what JR is in Japan. Thanks to this latest Maps update, one will be able to plan out their train journeys in an easier manner, and the kinds of trains that will be part of the deal include the extremely speedy ICE trains, in addition to other modes of transport such as buses, trams, subways and even walking routes, all of it directly on your Windows Phone-powered device.

This latest update will depict the slew of Deutsche Bahn train connections and timetables, not to mention those that are provided by all the regional transport operators and transport companies. In other words, visitors and first time tourists to Germany will have one heavy load shed off their back, since they can now plan their journey door-to-door. And with German efficiency running in the background, it is a no-brainer that everything there is going to move like clockwork, so if it says 12.45pm, that really means 12.45pm.

What makes this a beauty is, you do not need to update any of the HERE apps that are in use at the moment, as the connection with the Deutsche Bahn database will be performed via Nokia’s location cloud, and it will be sent to you automatically. [Press Release]
