passport goldJust last month, the BlackBerry Passport was released. Given its rather odd but sleek design and an interesting QWERTY keyboard, it wasn’t all too surprising to learn that the handset had sold out rather quickly. Now as we know, the BlackBerry Passport is available in both black and white options.

However thanks to a recent photo surfacing, it seems that there could be a gold edition BlackBerry Passport in the works, as you can see in the image above. For the most part, the handset appears to sport the same design as the regular BlackBerry Passport, with the main difference being that the sides of the handset are made of a gold trim.

It is unclear if this is merely a gold finish or if it is actually made from gold itself, but suffice to say the handset looks a bit more luxurious than its regular black/white counterpart. No word on whether it is an official design offered by BlackBerry or of it could be a jewelry company that could have decked the handset out in gold as some are wont to do, but either way we can only imagine that it won’t come cheap, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled anyway. In the meantime, any takers?
