motorola-symbol-tc70Not all smartphones are created equal, that is for sure, and we are pleased to see more and more manufacturers start to look at the practical side of things, such as infusing smartphones with waterproof capabilities. After all, I am quite sure that each of us have a horror story to tell of how one particular handset of ours happened to have “drowned”, so to speak. Motorola has unveiled their latest Symbol TC70 touch computer, which they claim to be the most rugged, powerful enterprise mobile computer ever released that runs on the Android mobile operating system.

The Motorola Symbol TC70 touch computer is said to enable employees on the front line of business to have them work in a whole lot more efficient manner, as well as to let them better serve customers. Running on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, it will merge the ease of use of a smartphone alongside the purpose-built durability, reliability and performance which businesses require.

In fact, the Symbol TC70 is said to be supported by over 50 certified applications, where among them include price and inventory checks, line busting, assisted selling, workforce management and inventory management. Hardware-wise, it will be equipped with a large 4.7” Corning Gorilla Glass 2 high-resolution display, is Voice over IP (VoIP)-ready, has Mx Data Capture ability, standard Wi-Fi security protocol support, and a new Workforce Connect Push-To-Talk (PTT) Express, among others. Any takers? [Press Release]
