We reported back in February this year when The Walt Disney Studios released a free iOS application called Disney Movies Anywhere. This iTunes-integrated application allowed users to stream a large collection of Disney, Pixar and Marvel movies that they had already purchased. The app could also be used to browse a catalog in order to purchase new titles. Now the app has finally made its way to Android.
The Disney Movies Anywhere app is available now for Android devices. Its similar in form and function, allowing users to stream any and all Disney, Pixar and Marvel movies that they own, either on iTunes, DVD or BluRay.
Users can prove that they own a particular movie by providing a code that can be found on the packaging. Once that’s done the movie will be available for streaming no matter where the user might be in the world.
Those who will use the app for allowing their children to watch Disney movies can rest assured as the application has a decent amount of parental controls that allows use of MPAA ratings in order to control content accessible to children.
As previously mentioned, it will also be possible to purchase new movies from the app, and then they will be available for streaming as well. Disney Movies Anywhere is now live on the Google Play Store.
