drone-harrassThe technology used in drones have advanced to such a point where it can actually biodegrade in the event of a crash, and there are also drones which target professionals. Well, since the price of the average drone has dropped, more and more laypeople will be able to gain access to it, which is why police have reported a rise in reports from folks who felt that they have been harassed – by drones.

A House of Lords committee was informed that such drones were being flown in protected airspace, and police officers on the ground have an extremely challenging, if not impossible, time to actually identify and figure out those who are responsible. Chief Inspector Nick Aldworth, of the Metropolitan Police, happens to be one in a nationwide group that has been given the unenviable task of investigating the matter.

Drones, also known officially as Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, will come in various sizes, and they are used by enthusiasts, TV companies, police forces and surveyors. The smaller models can be used without the need for special permission, although there are applied restrictions – which can be difficult to enforce. Hopefully drone users will be more responsible in their usage so that everyone else can enjoy the benefits of it.
