moto chinaWhile Google owned Motorola Mobility, the company did not really pay much attention to the Chinese market. In fact if we recall, Motorola Mobility did not release any smartphones in China for the past few years, but it looks like things are about to change. According to Motorola’s official website (via PhoneArena), the company revealed that new products for the Chinese market are expected to be announced soon.

In some ways this hardly comes as a surprise given that Lenovo, a Chinese company, now owns Motorola Mobility after buying it from Google. In fact if the rumors are to be believed, there are at least two Motorola handsets planned for China which go by the model numbers XT1079 and the XT1085, and apart from their rumored LTE connectivity, not much else is known.

However it is entirely possible that we could be looking at Motorola simply bringing already-existing products to China, like the new affordable Moto E, the second-gen Moto G, or even the high-end Moto X. With Lenovo’s acquisition it seems that Motorola will be expanding their activities and product lineup.

In fact we had heard Motorola will be getting back into the tablet game when the acquisition is complete (which it is). In any case it will interesting to see what kind of products Motorola has planned for the Chinese market, so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information.
