HTC will soon be unveiling its next flagship smartphone. The company has already sent out invites for an event on March 1st where it is all but confirmed that the upcoming flagship from this Taiwan-based manufacturer is going to be unveiled. There have already been many rumors and reports about the specifications and features, the latest suggests that HTC is going to dump its Ultrapixel camera in favor of a 20 megapixel shooter for the One M9.

HTC has stuck with the Ultrapixel camera for a couple of years now. Its resolution might have been 4-megapixel but the company didn’t let any opportunity pass by where it could explain that larger individual pixels would be less susceptible to image noise, thus resulting in improved quality.

Bloomberg’s latest report doesn’t say if HTC is going to dump Ultrapixel altogether and that we might not see it ever again on another device by the company. That may very well happen but if this report is to be believed then HTC’s upcoming flagship will have a 20 megapixel rear camera.

As far as the design and build quality is concerned the HTC One M9 is said to be quite similar to the existing One (M8). Under the hood there might be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM. No word as yet if the display is going to have Quad HD resolution.

There have also been reports that at its March 1st event HTC is going to show off its first smartwatch, something that has been in the rumor mill for a while now, though the company hasn’t confirmed anything about the products it will be showing off at the event.
