g-tech-lobitos-surf[CES 2015] G-Technology knows the importance of making sure that data remains safe and sound – after all, that bunch of wedding photos are priceless, which means a backup of your backup should be essential. This time around, G-Technology has introduced the new G-DRIVE ev ATC with Thunderbolt, the G-DRIVE ev ATC with USB 3.0, and the G-DRIVE ev RaW solutions that will offer a rugged form factor without sacrificing on its aesthetics.

These new rugged series have been specially designed so that they will be able to withstand daily wear and tear, not to mention shrug off more serious conditions, thanks to its features such as a watertight drive compartment that allows it to float when dropped in water. If you have a case of butterfingers, fret not – they are also drop-resistant (to a certain degree, of course), allowing them to hold up to adventures or mishaps. Each purchase will be accompanied by a three-year limited warranty for additional peace of mind.
The G-DRIVE ev RaW sports a rugged bumper and is tiny enough to fit into a backpack without much issue. It shrugs off 1.5 meter drops, offering protection for up to 1TB of data. Accompanied by a USB 3.0 cable, it will be out later this month, arriving in 500GB and 1TB capacities which will retail for $99.95 and $129.95, respectively.

There is also the G-DRIVE ev ATC with Thunderbolt and the G-DRIVE ev ATC with USB 3.0 , where they will come in an all-terrain case (ATC) complete with a tethered Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 cable. Out later this February, the 1TB Thunderbolt model will retail for $229.95, while the 1TB G-DRIVE ev ATC with USB 3.0 will cost $179.95.
