MetroPCS, T-Mobile’s prepaid brand, today announced a new plan for prepaid customers looking to get a good deal on LTE data for a reasonable price. The new plan brings unlimited LTE data for just $50 per month. MetroPCS says that this is the “undisputed best unlimited LTE data plan in the prepaid industry.”

This plan is being offered as a promotion and will only be available for a limited time. So till then MetroPCS customers can upgrade to the unlimited 4G LTE data plan for just $50 per month. Those who sign up by April 5th will get unlimited data with no pre-planned end date.

Those who are unsure about coverage only need to know that MetroPCS piggybacks off of T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network, so if you’re in a location where coverage of Magenta’s high-speed data network isn’t available, this new plan won’t be of much use to you.

This plan is being offered to anyone who activates a new line or upgrades their smartphone before April 5th. Those that don’t upgrade but have a 4G LTE data bucket on this prepaid carrier will receive an additional gigabyte of data starting today, automatically, no action is required on their end.

The $50 promotional plan is available to customers with MetroPCS GSM phones that support LTE. CDMA and bring your own device phones are not compatible.
