scroogled-endScroogled no more – that much is assured. The Scroogled campaign was first launched in 2012 by Microsoft, where this campaign did have its fair share of criticism concerning Google with several of its major products, and the likes of Gmail, Chrome, Play Store, and Chromebooks were not spared. Of course, while dissing such products from Google, Microsoft also took the opportunity to present their very own products, citing advantages such as being better and safer alternatives.

<1--more-->Not only was there a Scroogled.com website, there was also a Scroogled online store that sold its fair share of “gifts”, including the likes of mugs and t-shirts, among others. Well, after more than three years of this “exercise”, we are glad to say that Scroogled is no more. However in its place, one would be redirected to a Why Microsoft website which will compare Microsoft’s services and products to other parties (Google for example), albeit doing so without the kind of immaturity displayed in Scroogled. Glad that all of that is now put to bed, don’t you think so?

Better late than never, especially when there was talk in April last year that Microsoft was done with the Scroogled campaign. At least their TV campaign ended all the way back in 2013.
