fox-minority-reportWeb TV has certainly grown in stature over the years, with original series like House of Cards picking up its fair share of plaudits along the way. Well, in one of the the highest profile pitches this season, Minority Report, it seems that there is an early pilot order thrown into the mix. Fox themselves have issued a nod of approval for the project, where the pilot commitment comes with a $1 million penalty attached to it to underline their seriousness.

Minority Report happens to hail from 20th TV and Paramount TV, whose feature siblings were the ones behind the film that starred heartthrob Tom Cruise. In the Minority Report series, it is being looked at as a sequel to the movie, and since this will be a series, you can be sure that it is going to be one long, very very long, sequel.

The timeline of the series has been set at 10 years after the end of Precrime in DC, and one of the three Precogs actually struggles to lead a “normal” human life, although it remains haunted by what it perceives to be visions of the future. Serendipity steps in as he crosses path with a detective who is haunted by her past, and she could very well be the “key” to help him unlock his purpose in life.
