htcvideoplayerIt looks like HTC is having a ball of a time when it comes to updating their apps over on Google Play, making life a whole lot easier not only for the smartphone owner, but also for the carriers. No longer do carriers need to wait for a customized app release, as anyone using that particular HTC smartphone can always head on to Google Play to see what app has been updated by HTC themselves. This time around, it would be the HTC Video Player that has received an update, where this app enables one to play back streaming video as well as locally stored content using what has been described to be “powerful decoding capabilities.”

Apart from that, there are also gesture controls thrown into the mix, where among them include the ability to perform a two-finger side-to-side swipe in order to fast-forward or rewind; not to mention the ability to perform a screen capture from a video; in addition to trimming video clips without having to go through a loss of quality, as well as additional support for a bunch of formats.

Well, what are you waiting for? Any update to most apps would be worth checking out right from the get go, and this is no exception.
