Motorola’s smartphone business seems well on track to recovery and it looks like the company’s efforts are going to be bolstered by another flagship device that’s going to be “smarter than other smartphones.” It has been rumored that such a device is being developed by Motorola. The company hasn’t given any indication that it has a new flagship device up for release in the near future.

Upcoming Motorola flagships are likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. Motorola was one of the many OEM partners that rallied around Qualcomm after it took a beating in the news cycle for an entire week following reports that Samsung is no longer going to use a Qualcomm processor for the Galaxy S6.

The rumor comes from Ricciolo, known best for accurate Sony leaks, who writes on Twitter that a flagship “smarter than smartphones” is coming soon from Motorola. No further information has been provided so its unclear what this device is going to bring to the table that will give it an edge over the competition.

The competition is going to be tough. Samsung’s new flagships are around the corner, HTC is readying one too, and LG’s flagship is in line for release as well.

Motorola isn’t due to refresh the Moto X until September, and while we haven’t been told when this new flagship will be unveiled by the company, so it can’t be said for right now when the device will arrive.
