There is some good news today for LG G3 owners on Sprint. The carrier has announced the roll out of Android 5.0 Lollipop for LG’s reigning flagship smartphone. Starting today the LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is being rolled out. Since the update is sent out over the air in waves it will take a couple of days to go live across all regions.

Those who have followed Android 5.0 Lollipop right from the day Google announced it would already know much about all of the features and improvements that this update brings. Material Design is at the top of that list since it brings a whole new look and feel to the software with fluid animations, multicolored themes and more.

Many improvements and optimizations have been made system-wide to enhance stability, performance and enable more efficient use of the battery.

Some of the new features included in Android 5.0 Lollipop are lock screen notifications, an integrated location menu and improved messaging with Google Hangouts. Support for Android TV is also included.

Sprint subscribers who have a LG G3 smartphone should expect to receive a notification on their devices once the update goes live in the region.

It is recommended that users be connected to a strong Wi-Fi network and have ample battery charge left in the device before downloading and installing the update.
