Earlier this month Samsung announced its two new flagship smartphones. It also revealed that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be released in 20 countries starting April 10th. Precise release dates for individual markets have not yet been confirmed. Major carriers in the U.S. have said that they will start selling the device in April as well. A rumor floating online today claims that in the U.S. Samsung’s new handsets will be launched on April 11th.

The source claims to work for one of the four major U.S. carriers, that’s Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, but wasn’t precise about the carrier he actually works at.

He claims to have been told by a Samsung sales representative for the Greater Midwest Area that the Galaxy S6 is going to be launched on Saturday, April 11th.

Apparently this is the launch date for Samsung’s new flagships at all four major carriers in the country. Samsung representatives are said to be on the road these days, paying visits to carriers’ retail locations and providing demonstrations of the new devices.

A recent report suggested that Samsung’s carrier partners like both devices and have placed as many as 20 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge combined. It remains to be seen though how both devices resonate with customers around the globe.

We’ll find out for sure starting next month.
