Earlier this month at Mobile World Congress 2015 HTC unveiled its new flagship smartphone the HTC One M9. It is more of an evolutionary update than a revolutionary one but HTC is hoping that it will get the job done in the market. HTC U.S. president Jason Mackenzie has revealed today that a big One M9 related announcement for folks in the States will be made this Wednesday.

Mackenzie revealed this through a tweet. He doesn’t say that the “big surprise” is going to be only that people are going to love it. He also wrote that it has “never been easier to choose HTC One.”

It merits mentioning here that T-Mobile has an event scheduled in New York on the same day. There has been no formal indication from HTC or T-Mobile that shows some link between the two.

The evidence here is purely circumstantial hence the presumption that HTC and T-Mobile might be making some joint announcement of sorts.

Mackenzie didn’t offer any other details like the time this announcement will be made or whether a separate event will be conducted.

For those who think this has something to do with T-Mobile should mark their calendars for March 18th, 12:30 PM ET, that’s when T-Mobile’s event kicks off in New York.
