A couple of days ago, Sony announced that they would be releasing the remastered version of God of War 3 on their latest console, the PlayStation 4. For gamers who might not have played the game or who want to relive the game in 1080p resolution and 60fps framerates, this is obviously very good news.

It also begs the question, does Sony have plans for the release of other God of War titles in the franchise? Unfortunately that does not seem to be happening, at least for the time-being. According to a comment made by Sony’s Aaron Kaufman on Sony’s PlayStation Blog, Kaufman responded to a question by a fan asking about other potential God of War remasters, to which Kaufman said, “No plans for others in the franchise to bring over.”

No doubt this is disappointing news for some gamers who are looking to replay the game with updated textures and better resolutions, but it is also understandable that Sony might want to focus their efforts on creating new games instead of revisiting old ones. Speaking of revisiting games, there were some gamers who weren’t particularly thrilled about the remaster and thinks it’s just an attempt by Sony at a cash grab.

Kaufman responded by saying, “We hear you and that’s OK, remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play God of War 3 5yrs ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4. People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone.” The remastered God of War 3 is expected to be released on the 14th of July.
