Sony had said back in January that it will start rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Xperia devices from February. The month came and went by still Sony didn’t release the update. If Sony’s official Indonesian Facebook page is to be believed then the roll out could be starting from next week. At least that’s what the people who run the page have posted on Facebook. Sony has not yet said that this timeframe is incorrect.

Recent rumors have also suggested that Sony is completely focused on bringing Lollipop to Xperia devices, so much so that it may even leave phones other than the Xperia Z series out of the fray.

Sony Indonesia says on its Facebook page that the Lollipop OTA will start in week 12, that’s next week, and even though it concerns Indonesia only it does hint that Sony will begin the staged roll out in just a few days.

Major software updates are often released in stages so they don’t go live at once across the world. The post doesn’t reveal precisely when Sony’s staged roll out will begin and what countries will be covered in the first phase.

The post also says that the update will come in over 1GB. Precise release dates will vary as per carrier and region.
