Finally, a sigh of relief for the HTC One M8 owners on AT&T, the company announced the roll out of the much-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update. It will soon be available on your phone, starting tomorrow, April 7.

HTC’s Vice President of Product Management, MO Versi announced on Twitter this evening, that the company has got the green signal on the Android 5.0 Lollipop update roll out for the AT&T One M8, the OTA will start from April 7. The AT&T One M8 users received Android 4.4 KitKat update 3 months ago and at that time many were disappointed as they were hoping for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update instead.

Interestingly, HTC One M7 on AT&T have received the Lollipop update a week ago while HTC One M8 users were left in jeopardy at that time. Now, starting from tomorrow, the AT&T One M8 users will be able to enjoy all the good things that come along with the Lollipop update, such as, better multitasking UI, enhanced notifications, and the amazing material design.

There is no clear information on why it took so much time for AT&T to approve the update (more likely, there are a lot of tests…), but we hope that the wait turns out to be worthy for the carrier’s One M8 users.
