googlephotosGoogle is far from satisfied with the announcement of just Android M alone, as the technology giant too, has taken a keen interest in organizing your collection of photos. Earlier this year, we did learn of how Google+ has split into Google Photos and Streams, and here we are with word that the Google Photos app for iOS, Android and Web platforms will come with unlimited storage, now how about that? Time to go nuts, perhaps?

Do bear in mind that as at time of publishing, Apple only delivers 5GB of free iCloud storage for its users. In comparison, Google has more or less offered the ultimate – that is, free, unlimited cloud storage of both photos as well as videos. Surely something as good as this is too good to be true? Well, true to form, a caveat is part of the deal. Should the photos be more than 16MP in terms of resolution, those will be stashed away in a compressed format. Full HD 1080p videos can be scurried away for free though, although all videos in 4K will be downsized.

I suppose those requirements aren’t too demanding for most users out there other than professionals who need to stash high quality videos and photos somewhere.
