Minecraft developer Mojang has confirmed that the Minecraft Pocket Edition will soon be updated with several new items, the biggest addition to this version of the game will be player skins. Player skins have been available for a long time for Minecraft on PC and consoles, they have actually become a part of the experience so it’s about time that Mojang is adding player skins to the Pocket Edition.

Initially Mojang is going to provide few skins for free and it will sell others through in-app purchases. A pack of 20 skins is going to cost around $1.

Players will also be able to upload skins directly to their character over the web, even those skins that they have created themselves using the Minecraft Skin Studio.

The upcoming update also brings a handful of other improvements such as multiple language support, several new animals, ability to fish, the ability to throw stuff from boats like eggs and snowballs, boats that have space for two and much more.

Mojang also points out that the upcoming update brings more “cool things that you should discover for yourself,” and it goes without saying that the community is going to take this as a challenge to find out what else is provided in this update.
