moto-x-2014-review-3Last week we reported that thanks to leaked information, the alleged details of Motorola’s next-gen Moto X was revealed. However thanks to newer details from STJS Gadgets, additional information about the handset’s camera has been revealed in the process. Now previously we reported that the phone could sport a 16MP camera.

The new report corroborates those claims but has also revealed that the camera will feature optical image stabilization (OIS). This is actually a pretty awesome feature and if you have used a camera with OIS in the past, no doubt you know how useful it is when it comes to taking sharp and blur-free photos.

The 16MP camera is also an upgrade over the Moto X (2014) which came with a 13MP sensor, but like we said in the past megapixels aren’t everything but from a marketing standpoint, it does look better on paper. It also seems that the Moto X (2015) will be capable of capturing video in 4K at 30fps which is a pretty decent framerate.

However for those who prefer a smoother 60fps, the phone will only be able to get 60fps by capturing videos in Full HD. There are also 120fps options for Full HD and 240fps for 720p recording. In any case this information should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but these upgrades don’t sound particularly ridiculous so it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that the Moto X (2015) could come with those specs.
