While there has been flirts with dual screen designs in hardware in the past, where the most famous of those would no doubt be the Nintendo DS and all of its subsequent iterations, this does not mean that the smartphone should also miss out on dual display goodness, although one would also need to take into consideration the battery life of the device in the long run. Word has it that Samsung’s Project Valley would be one that might see the introduction of a dual screen smartphone that is also foldable.
It might make plenty of sense, taking into consideration how flexible displays happen to be an area in which Samsung has been researching for quite a while now, and the fruits of that labor would come in the form of the Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S6 edge. A flexible display is great, but a foldable one? Surely this would pave the way for a slew of opportunities, although I am very sure that there is a bunch of challenges to overcome in the first place.
As it is, Samsung does look as though they are standing on the cusp of the first foldable display smartphone in the world, and we cannot wait for an official reveal!
