dota 2 rebornLast week Valve unveiled DotA 2 Reborn which is basically a pretty huge upgrade that Valve will be making to their MOBA. While there will be plenty of changes in the UI and menus, one of the more notable changes is to the actual game itself which will now run on Valve’s Source 2 engine, meaning that it has been given a graphics upgrade.

Safe to say that gamers are no doubt eager to try out the new DotA 2 and the good news is that you won’t have to wait any longer as Valve has opened up the beta to everyone. Accessing the beta is easy as all you’d need to do is launch DotA 2, select the beta and download it. Once it’s downloaded you’ll be good to go.

According to Valve, “Unlike our traditional Test client, your match history, MMR, cosmetic items, and friends are shared across the two versions/ However, Ranked Matchmaking is not enabled yet. We anticipate that we’ll be able to turn it on in a few days, but we need more testing of the basic functionality first. Also, it is possible new items may make their first appearance in either the beta or the main client. These items may be temporarily missing from the other client while their assets are converted.”

So if you’d like to get started, then just launch DotA 2 and you’ll be good to go! However as Valve states given that this is still in beta, there will probably be some bugs you might encounter along the way, as well as not having access to some features which will probably be enabled at a later date. This is more for players to get an idea of what to expect versus the actual game so keep that in mind when you’re playing it.
