For the most part, front-facing cameras don’t have the same resolution as the rear-facing cameras on smartphones. However times have changed where thanks to selfies, OEMs are starting to increase the importance of how good the front-facing camera is. Well the good news is that Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile has done that as well.
According to a report published today about the latest Windows 10 Mobile build, it has been revealed that in the latest build, the front-facing camera of Windows Phone devices has received a face tracking tool. What this does is that the camera will try to detect the person’s face on the screen and track it to keep focus on it.
This means is that even if your hands are a bit unsteady or if you’re moving around a lot, it should have no problems locking in on your face to help take a more in-focus photo. This might be handy for selfie-lovers, although we have to wonder if there might be more features that Microsoft has yet to unveil.
The latest build has also made some changes to the camera icon where it will now be more obvious than before. At the moment Windows 10 Mobile has yet to receive an official release date, although we have heard the possibility that it could be released in September so it remains to be seen if that will indeed be the case.
