acer-liquid-m220When we talk about purchasing a new smartphone for our use, most of the time people would think of picking up one of those flagship models such as the iPhone 6 as well as the Samsung Galaxy S6. However, do remember that there is a huge segment of the world’s population that do not earn that kind of money to bring home such a handset, which is why there is always a niche market to cater to the middle class as well as entry level consumers. Enter the Acer Liquid M220 that will arrive in the US market as promised earlier this April, as it was first announced in March earlier this year.

This new handset can be picked up from the Microsoft Store as an unlocked device with a relatively affordable asking price of $79.99 a pop. Microsoft will be offering a free pair of Nokia headphones as well as a sweetener to those who intend to pick up the Liquid M220.

This particular price point would place the Acer Liquid M220 in similar entry level company like the Microsoft Lumia 435, which means you should not be too happy with the hardware specifications if you’re looking for something with a little bit more muscle. It will sport a 4” display at 480 x 800 pixels resolution, HSPA+ connectivity, a dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, a 2MP selfie camera and a 5MP shooter behind, and a 1300 mAh battery, all of it running on Windows Phone 8.1 with the ability to upgrade to Windows 10 when the latter arrives.
