Fallout Shelter Pulls $5.1 Million In Two Weeks

fallout shelterAt E3 Bethesda launched their first mobile game called Fallout Shelter. The game acts to whet the appetite of gamers ahead of the release of Fallout 4, but surprisingly enough it turned out to be quite a massive hit. The game surpassed King’s Candy Crush Saga in terms of revenue on the iTunes App Store, but how much did it make exactly?

For those wonder, the numbers are in and if they are any accurate, Bethesda might have found their new cash cow. According to the numbers provided by SuperData Research, it turns out that Fallout Shelter managed to rake in a whopping $5.1 million within its first two weeks of availability. Just doing some simple math revealed that on average, Bethesda made a little over $350,000 a day!

For those unfamiliar, Fallout Shelter is a free to play game. Gamers can progress in the game without having to pay a single cent, however for those looking to get their hands on extra bottle caps, resources, costumes, and rare dwellers, they will need to get their hands on Lunchboxes which can either be earned through achievements or bought using real money, which is where all of the revenue is coming from.

It should also be noted that all the money Bethesda made is from the iOS version alone. The Android version of the game is still in the works and last we heard, it is expected to be released in the next month or so, hopefully by then the hype surrounding the game will still be there.
