If you have been playing Fallout Shelter, you know that if you’re lucky enough you might encounter a Legendary Dweller through the opening of Lunchboxes. However it seems that Bethesda is slowly starting to introducing content from Fallout 4 into the game. The company has announced on its blog that starting from today, you will have the chance of stumbling across Legendary Dweller Preston Garvey.
For those unfamiliar with Preston Garvey, he’s a character that will be making an appearance in Fallout 4 and is part of the in-game faction the Commonwealth Minutemen, and best of all he will also come equipped with a seemingly strong weapon in the form of the Laser Musket which should come in handy if you decide to send him out for exploration.
As is the case with Legendary Dwellers, Garvey’s stats are pretty high and as you can see in the screenshot above, he will come high Perception and Endurance, with the latter stat making him ideal for wasteland exploration. That being said, Bethesda notes that Garvey and all Legendary Dwellers are only available through Lunchboxes which are in-game purchases.
This means that if you’re unwilling to spend real-money, you will not be able to get him, or you will have to rely on completing achievements which can sometimes reward you with a Lunchbox. These in-app purchases have since allowed Fallout Shelter to sail past Candy Crush Saga, widely considered by many as being a cash cow.
