We’re not sure if this is mea culpa on Bethesda’s end for all the various Fallout 76 problems and controversies, or if it could simply just be Bethesda being in the festive spirit, but the company has announced that they will be giving Fallout 76 players a free copy of the Fallout Classic Collection.

All players need to do to claim this freebie is log into the game by the end of 2018 and they will be giving a copy of the collection. This applies to all players including those on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and according to Bethesda’s tweet, this entitlement is expected to go live in early January which means that you won’t be getting it immediately, but you will still need to log into your account by the end of the year to qualify.

For those unfamiliar, the Fallout Classic Collection will contain three different Fallout games, and as the name implies, these will be games from Fallout’s very early days. This will include Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. That being said, we’re not sure if free games will be enough to solve Bethesda’s Fallout 76 woes, but we suppose it is a step in the right direction and if you don’t already own those games, then this could be a good way to get your hands on them and experience the original Fallout.
