moto_x_play_customThe Moto X Play was announced yesterday and just like other Moto X handsets, the Moto X Play will have access to the Moto Maker, which for those unfamiliar is a customization tool for Motorola’s handsets where users can customize the look for their phones to a certain extent. While the Moto X Play has yet to be launched, it looks like it has made an appearance on Moto Maker already.

Now if you were to head on over to the Moto Maker, you would actually be able to start customizing the device to your heart’s content. In fact it seems that there are so many options to choose from that you could actually end up with a whopping 196 color combinations for your handset, meaning that you could truly create something unique for yourself.

Some of the color combos are quite funky which we suppose might have led to it being called the “Play”. Unfortunately if you were around for the announcement, you probably know that the Moto X Play will not be available stateside. Instead US customers will be given the Moto X Style instead which has its own customization options.

This is a pity but we suppose it’s not that bad of a trade off since in reality the main differences would be its screen size, with the Moto X Play sport a 0.2-inch smaller display and a slightly larger battery at 3,630mAh.
