A couple of days ago we reported that thanks to a document sighting spotted directly on Sony’s PlayStation website that the release date for Journey for the PlayStation 4 had been pegged for the 21st of July. Well the good news is that it looks like the leak was real as Sony has since confirmed on the PlayStation blog that the game will indeed be released then.

In fact what’s even better news is that if you had the game when you owned the PS3, Sony has confirmed that the game will be free for you when it is released on the PS4. We suppose this is only fair since we’re sure gamers would probably protest if they had to buy a game they had already played twice just for updated graphics, right?

That being said, Journey for the PS4 was originally announced a couple of months ago. It would basically be the same game except that it will be taking advantage of Sony’s PS4 hardware which means that gamers can look forward to gameplay in 1080p Full HD resolution, along with 60fps framerates which should result in a very smooth experience.

The game has been nominated for multiple awards and its soundtrack, composed by Austin Wintory, was even nominated for a Grammy (you can listen for yourself in the video above). This is not your typical game and if you have not played it already, then this is a fuss that is definitely worth checking out.
