GuillermodelToroGuillermo del Toro is a name you’re probably familiar with if you watch movies and TV series. He has been responsible for directing movies such as Hellboy, Pacific Rim, and Blade 2, but for those unfamiliar, del Toro has also dabbled in video games. One of those games is Silent Hill in which he and Hideo Kojima were supposed to be working on it together.

However it later fell apart due to corporate restructuring at Konami. After that incident and another incident in 2012 which saw the cancellation of another game he was working on called Insane, it seems that del Toro has had enough of video games and has since stated that he will never work on one again.

Speaking to Shack News, del Toro was quoted as saying, “I have proven to be the albatross of video games. I joined THQ, and THQ goes broke. I join Kojima, and Kojima leaves Konami. I have decided, in order not to destroy anyone else’s life, I have decided I will never again get involved in video games. Otherwise, I’ll join someone and his house will explode, or something.”

That being said, we had previously reported that del Toro and Kojima were said to be continuing to work with each other, but maybe it’s more in a friend capacity as opposed to an actual video game. According to del Toro, “I can gladly say that we are friends and I love his work and I will continue learning from him as a friend” We suppose if you are a fan of his work, we guess there is the upcoming Pacific Rim 2 movie that you can look forward to.
