Just how popular is the social networking site known as Facebook? Well, ComScore has officially released its most report on key trends where the US smartphone market is concerned, and it seems that Facebook is riding pretty high in the ranking charts, with Facebook Messenger being the second most downloaded mobile app in the US – relegating YouTube by one spot.
Apart from that, it also looks as though the Facebook app itself continues to maintain the top spot in the rankings, which just goes to show how social networking has its tentacles all over the place. Google’s YouTube has now slid to third position, with Google Maps residing in eighth. It is also interesting to take note that WhatsApp remains missing from the top 15 smartphone apps – which is rather surprising especially when one takes into consideration how the app itself has 900 million monthly active users.
