Samsung confirmed today that its much awaited first round smartwatch will be released in the United States this Friday, October 2nd. It’s going to be available in two versions, Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic, the latter is more of a dressier version of this smartwatch. Pricing has been confirmed as well as the retailers who will be selling this smartwatch come Friday.

Customers in the United States will be available to purchase Gear S2 directly from Samsung’s website starting Friday, the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic will also be sold through retailers including Best Buy, Amazon as well as through participating Macy’s stores.

This is the first time that Samsung has come out with a round smartwatch, following Motorola’s lead, which already gave us one in the form of the Moto 360. Though Samsung has applied a unique touch to the Gear S2, it features a rotating bezel which makes it much easier to navigate through the various features offered by this Tizen-powered smartwatch.

Samsung also decided not to keep it exclusive to its own platform, Gear S2 works with all Android devices powered by Android 4.4 KitKat or higher, but does remind us that the watch will have additional features like Samsung Pay when hooked up with a Galaxy smartphone.

Gear S2 will be available this Friday for $99.99 and the Gear S2 Classic for $349.99.
