Twitter has launched a significantly improved app for iPhone and iPad, it comes with a fundamental change, Twitter is no longer going to offer separate apps for both platforms. Instead it has released a single app that works for both iPhone and iPad so that users get the very same features across both platforms. Separate versions for iPhone and iPad with different features no longer exist.
The new application is capable of automatically resizing the display if the user is on the 7.9 inch iPad Mini or the 9.7 inch iPad, and brings several features for the tablet which were previously only available for the iPhone version.
It now allows users to quote from an original tweet and add their own 140 characters on top of it, users can also search the app for trending topics and view pages for specific places and products.
Various user interface tweaks have been made as well, Twitter’s aim was to develop the perfect line length, font size and view so that content feel just right regardless of whether the user is on an iPad or an iPhone.
There’s another advantage of a single app, it’s much easier for Twitter to push out new updates for both devices and there will always be feature-parity across the iPad and iPhone. Twitter for iOS version 6.36 is now available for download via the App Store.
