Virgin America, a well known “low-fare, upscale” airline in the United States, has announced that it has teamed up with Netflix to provide complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi access to passengers that allows new and existing Netflix subscribers to enjoy the entire library of the online video streaming service while they’re cruising along at more than 30,000 feet. Netflix will be available to passengers on the airline’s new ViaSat Wi-Fi equipped planes, allowing them to stream the entire library of movies and TV shows to smartphones, tablets and laptops for no charge at all until March 2, 2016.

This experience has been made possible courtesy the recent connectivity partnership between Virgin America and ViaSat which brings considerably faster Wi-Fi connectivity to Virgin’s 10 new Airbus A320 planes.

As part of this deal which offers free Netflix streaming to all passengers Virgin America is also going to offer all three seasons of House of Cards for free on its Red touch-screen seatback in-flight entertainment system, allowing those passengers who have no interest in subscribing to Netflix to watch one of the company’s most popular original shows.

Virgin America and Netflix announced their #NetflixOnboard partnership by unveiling a Netflix and House of Cards branded airplane as well as an appearance by Michael Kelly who plays Doug Stamper on House of Cards.
