blackberry privSo fast BlackBerry has released official photos of the BlackBerry Priv, demonstrated the phone on video, but in terms of specs the company has kept pretty mum on that front, at least until now. Spotted on BlackBerry’s Inside BlackBerry blog, the Canadian company teased some official specs of the upcoming phone.

For starters they have indeed confirmed that the phone will feature a 5.4-inch display with dual curved edges. From what we can tell, the curved edges don’t do anything unlike the Galaxy S6 Edge, so it could be purely about aesthetics or even about ergonomics since a curved display would be easier to hold.

The company also revealed that the phone will pack a 3,410mAh battery which is actually pretty impressive, a Schneider-Kreuznach certified camera although there was no mention of the megapixel count, although we have heard that it will feature a 21MP sensor. The company also states that the phone will feature a DTEK security app that will protect the user’s privacy.

No word on when the phone will be officially launched, but BlackBerry has recently opened up pre-registrations for the phone, allowing users who are interested in the device to register their interest and be notified upon its launch. Note that this isn’t a pre-order as we expect that those will come once the device has been revealed in all of its capacity.
