twilight_princess_hdEarlier this month there was speculation that Nintendo could be considering releasing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD for the Wii U. This speculation came about when it was discovered that there was an icon that suggested that the game could indeed be coming to the console.

We admit it was a bit of a stretch, but now it seems that new “evidence” has emerged suggesting the same thing. This new evidence comes from one of the presentation slides that Nintendo used to share details of their semi-annual financial results. As you can see in the screenshot above, there is a drawing of Link in the background.

This isn’t that unusual given that Link is part of Nintendo’s franchise. However it has been speculated that the way he is posing looks similar to the artwork of Twilight Princess, indicating that this could be Nintendo’s way of subtly hinting that the game is on its way. Nintendo also makes specific reference to Link, fueling the speculation in the process.

Once again this does seem like a bit of a stretch, but at the same time we guess some of you guys might argue otherwise. Twilight Princess was released in 2006 and given Nintendo’s habit of re-releasing older titles as HD remakes, it wouldn’t be entirely out of the question, but is a Twilight Princess HD remake a title you might be interested in playing?
