If you love the Guitar Hero franchise and think it would be cool if you could play it on your phone, you might be pleased to learn that Activision has recently launched Guitar Hero Live for iOS devices. This is basically the mobile version of the game that will also be released on consoles, so if you don’t have a console but would like to get on board, this is your chance.

The app itself is free and can be downloaded via the iTunes App Store, however it seems that the app is only a demo for 2 free songs, after which gamers will need to purchase the game. There are two options here – you can opt to purchase the game and the controller bundle that puts a (plastic) guitar into your hands for $99.99, or the digital touch version which basically relies on touchscreen interaction for $49.99.

We have to admit that is still pretty damn pricey as far as mobile games are concerned, but then again you will pretty much have access to all of the features and songs that the console versions have, except that it has been shrunken down to fit on your smartphone, so gaming on the go will be possible.

Gamers will also be able to access GHTV channels that feature over 200 songs at launch, and choosing either the controller or digital bundle will give players access to an additional 40 songs to play along to. There will also be an Apple TV version that will let gamers play on a larger screen.
