Video Shows Nexus 5X Fingerprint Sensor To Be Very Responsive

With the launch of the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, these are basically the first two Google devices that will officially incorporate a fingerprint sensor that takes advantage of the security feature built into Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Now in the past we have seen how clunky some sensors can get, but it seems that won’t be an issue here.

Recently the folks at RevealTheTech have managed to get their hands on the Nexus 5X during its launch in India and recorded a video showing off its fingerprint sensor. As you can see in the video above, the sensor is extremely responsive and is able to detect the fingerprint and unlock it in a very short amount of time.

This is versus other fingerprint sensors like those introduced in last year’s Galaxy S5, in which we found that trying to get the fingerprint sensor to detect our thumbprint proved to be a bit trickier than usual, but still pretty good overall. However from this video, the Nexus 5X’s sensor looks like a winner in terms of speed.

That being said if there is one gripe we have, it would be the odd placement on the back which does make accessing the sensor a bit difficult and awkward, but we reckon with time and practiced motions you could get used to it.
